MT. KITANGLAD RANGE NATURAL PARK

📍Bukidnon

Mount Kitanglad is one of the inactive volcanoes located in Bukidnon Province. It is the fourth-highest mountain in the Philippines and has an approximate height of 2,899 meters (9,511 feet). It sits between Malaybalay City and the municipalities of Lantapan, Impasugong, Sumilao, and Libona. It houses one of the Philippines’ few remaining rainforests.
The name “Kitanglad” comes from a folklore in which a massive flood submerged the native lands of Bukidnon, leaving just the tip of a mountain, the size of a “tanglad” (lemon grass), visible. It is considered the ancestral domain of several old cultural communities like the Bukidnons, Higaonons, and Talaandigs.

HOW TO GET THERE:
From the Cagayan de Oro Agora Terminal, take a bus bound for Malaybalay. Then, ride a jeep to Barangay Intavas.
