THE SUNKEN CEMETERY
📍Catarman, Camiguin
Take a peek under the waters and discover what remains of an old cemetery sunk by the eruption of Mt. Vulcan in 1871. Transformed into a pristine sanctuary below the waves, a giant cross is erected as the landmark of this mysterious historical site. Part of the beautiful seascape of this famous dive site is an array of six different species of giant clams. If diving is not for you, you can pose on the view deck or take a boat to the cross base to take unforgettable photos of your experience.
HOW TO GET THERE
The gated entry to the Sunken Cemetery is approximately 520 meters from the Ruins of San Roque Church entrance. It is private-owned; however, tourists can access the view deck overlooking the Sunken Cemetery. Across the street lies the Catarman Municipal Tourism Center.
